Accessibility
We want the people who use GigPal to be able to use it — including people who browse with a keyboard instead of a mouse, people who use a screen reader or magnifier, people with low vision or colour vision differences, and people who need motion turned down.
Where we stand
We measure our work against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That is the target for everything we publish and everything we build.
This website — gigpalpro.com — is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That means most of it meets the standard and some parts do not. The parts we know about are listed below.
The GigPal application at app.gigpalpro.com, and our mobile apps, have not yet been assessed. We make no conformance claim about them at all. We know from spot checks that they carry very little accessibility markup today, and we expect a review to find substantial gaps. Please do not read a statement about this website as a statement about the application.
What is in place
- A “skip to content” link as the first keyboard stop on every page.
- Proper page landmarks — banner, navigation, main and footer — and a declared page language.
- Visible keyboard focus on every interactive element we tested.
- Every form field has a real label, connected to the field, so a screen reader announces it. Forms announce success and error states.
- Body text contrast meets the 4.5:1 minimum.
- No sideways scrolling at phone width.
- Background animation stops when your device is set to reduce motion.
- Form fields tell your browser what they are for, so a browser or password manager can offer to fill them in.
What we know is not right yet
- Small tap targets. Some navigation and footer links are smaller than the 44-by-44-pixel target size recommended for touch. They work, but they are harder to hit accurately on a phone. This is our most widespread issue.
- Faint borders. The hairline borders separating cards and panels are low contrast (about 1.3:1 to 1.4:1). Where a border is the only thing marking the edge of a control, that is below the 3:1 guidance for non-text elements. This is part of the site's visual design and changing it is a decision we have not yet made.
- Our applications have not been reviewed. We expect a proper review to find issues, and we would rather say so than imply a standard we have not measured.
How this was assessed
Automated testing with the axe accessibility engine (axe-core 4.10.2) run against pages in a real browser, combined with manual checks — keyboard-only navigation, measured colour contrast, measured tap target sizes, form label inspection, and testing with reduced-motion settings on. Tested at desktop width (1440px) and phone width (390px).
Assessed on 27 August 2026, with a remediation batch deployed and re-measured the same day, and re-verified on 28 August 2026, when the last known colour-contrast failure on this site was fixed and re-measured live.
This was a self-assessment. It has not been independently audited by a third party, and we do not claim that it was. We have not tested with real assistive technology such as VoiceOver, NVDA or JAWS, or with people who rely on it. Automated tools catch perhaps a third of accessibility problems. There will be issues we have not found.
We review this statement and re-run this assessment at least once a year, and whenever we substantially redesign the site.
Tell us about a barrier
If something here gets in your way, we want to hear about it. You do not need to know the technical term for it — “I can't get past the menu with my keyboard” is a perfectly good report.

— please put “Accessibility” in the subject line.
GigPal customers can also write to
support@gigpalpro.com.
It helps if you can tell us:
- the page or screen you were on (a web address is ideal),
- what you were trying to do,
- what happened instead, and
- what browser, device or assistive technology you were using, if you know.
We will acknowledge your message within 5 business days and tell you what we found and what we plan to do. If a fix will take a while, we will say so, and we will try to offer another way to get what you needed in the meantime.
Formal complaints
